Vaccines & Preventative Medicine
Vaccines are one of the best preventive measures you can take for your pet
At Clifton Ave Animal Hospital, we care about your pet’s well-being. We work closely with you to help determine the best care plan for your pet’s unique needs. Our focus is on preventive medicine to make sure your pet stays healthy. We know that your pet is a well-loved member of your family, and we want both of you to feel good about your visits to see us.
Vaccines are one of the best preventive measures you can take for your pet. All puppies and kittens need an initial series of vaccinations, called core vaccines, to prevent debilitating diseases such as Rabies, Feline Panleukopenia (Distemper), Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Feline Calicivirus Infection, Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, and Canine Hepatitis. We will help you get these important safeguards for your pet at the appropriate time.
We will also discuss your pet’s living situation and lifestyle with you so we can make recommendations about other vaccinations. Your pet may need additional protection depending on where you live, whether your pet stays in your neighborhood or accompanies you on trips to other geographic areas, and whether your pet rarely leaves your yard or has busy play dates.
In addition to vaccinations, we’ll help you keep on track with routine exams. These visits are an important part of pet care. Since pets can’t vocalize how they feel, wellness exams are critical to identifying illness and disease before you may be aware of any symptoms. With early detection, we can take steps to correct a problem before it becomes severe or even irreversible. We can also answer any questions you may have about your pet, such as diet or behavior. Wellness check-ups are recommended annually by the American Animal Hospital Association, with more frequent visits as your pet ages.
Clifton Ave Animal Hospital is your partner in pet care. We are dedicated to working with you in all aspects of your pet’s health and well-being.
